count your spacebar presses

This spacebar counter measures how many times you can hit the space key before the clock runs out. The test is set to spacebar-only input and a 30 second timer by default — a popular challenge length — but you can switch to 5, 10, 15 or 60 seconds. Press space to start; every press registers instantly, and auto-repeat from holding the key down doesn't count.

You'll see your presses per second live while the timer runs, then a full breakdown: total presses, average and peak speed, and a per-second graph showing exactly when your finger slowed. Around 6–7 presses per second is typical; serious spacebar clickers alternate fingers to go faster. Prefer the mouse? Head to the click speed test or the cps test and compare which hand is quicker.

What is a spacebar counter?

A spacebar counter counts how many times you can press the spacebar within a set time. This version runs timed tests from 5 to 60 seconds and reports your presses per second, peak second, total presses and consistency.

How many times can the average person press the spacebar?

Most people manage around 6 to 7 spacebar presses per second — roughly 100 presses in 15 seconds or 350 to 400 in a full minute. Sustained speed drops over longer tests as your thumb or finger fatigues.

How do I press the spacebar faster?

Use two alternating fingers or your thumb and a finger together, keep your wrist floating rather than anchored, and press from the edge of the key where travel is shortest. A keyboard with light, short-travel switches also helps noticeably.

Why does my keyboard miss some spacebar presses?

Very fast presses can outrun a keyboard’s debounce or polling rate, and some cheap keyboards cannot register a key again until it has fully reset. Mechanical keyboards with light switches and high polling rates drop far fewer rapid presses.

Why do people practice spacebar speed?

Spacebar speed matters in games where jumping, bunny-hopping or flying is bound to space — Minecraft bridging, Fortnite editing and rhythm games among them. It is also simply a popular challenge: spacebar counter scores are widely shared and compared online.
